Latitude is seeking an experienced Interim General Counsel to provide parental leave coverage for a fast-growing B2B SaaS company. The ideal candidate is a business-minded, hands-on legal generalist with significant in-house experience advising technology, SaaS, and/or fintech companies.
This attorney will serve as a key legal advisor to senior leadership and provide strategic and day-to-day legal support across commercial transactions, regulatory and compliance matters, data privacy, employment, corporate governance, and legal operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating independently in a lean, fast-paced environment and providing practical, solutions-oriented advice that balances legal risk with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary legal advisor to senior leadership on strategic initiatives and day-to-day legal matters.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial agreements, including MSAs, strategic partnership agreements, DPAs, IDTAs, and data-sharing agreements.

Advise on global strategic partnerships and other complex revenue-generating commercial arrangements.

Review and maintain customer-facing product terms, participation agreements, and service-specific terms.

Advise on regulatory and compliance matters affecting SaaS, fintech, payments, data-driven platforms, and loyalty programs.

Provide guidance on domestic and international data privacy and cross-border data transfer matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and PDPA compliance.

Advise on AI and data governance matters, including responsible AI policies and contractual restrictions relating to AI/ML model training and the use of company or customer data.

Support global employment matters, including employment agreements, workplace policies, and workforce actions.

Assist with corporate governance, board matters, shareholder agreements, resolutions, entity management, international expansion, and cross-border matters.

Assess and manage litigation and pre-litigation matters and oversee outside counsel as needed.

Ensure continuity of ongoing legal matters and identify and prioritize key legal risks and time-sensitive issues during the engagement.

Maintain and improve legal processes, templates, intake workflows, and playbooks and leverage legal technology tools where appropriate.
Qualifications
-
JD or equivalent law degree and active admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

10+ years of relevant legal experience, including prior experience as a General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or senior in-house legal leader.

Significant experience supporting B2B SaaS, fintech, financial services, and/or technology-driven businesses.

Strong commercial contracting experience, including complex transactions and global strategic partnerships.

Experience advising on international data protection and cross-border data transfer matters and negotiating DPAs, IDTAs, and data-sharing agreements.

Working knowledge of privacy frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, and PDPA.

Ability to independently manage a broad range of legal matters in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Strong executive presence and experience advising senior business leaders.

Ability to effectively support stakeholders across multiple time zones, including the U.S., APAC, and Europe.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with loyalty, rewards, or points-based businesses.

Familiarity with APAC regulatory environments, particularly Singapore and Australia.

Experience with financial services and information security standards, including APRA CPS 230/234 and PCI DSS.

Experience advising on AI and data governance matters.

CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar privacy certification.
Position Details
- Type of role: Engagement role

Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week) with ability to flex up as needed. Duration is last week of September 2026-March 2027

Location: New York-area candidates with the ability to work onsite from time to time as needed are preferred.
Compensation:
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $200,000 to $300,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude contract professionals receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. Latitude contract professionals are usually W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week. Benefits-eligible Latitude contract professionals receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
