SOCCER SHOTS NASHVILLE:

Sports Management Internship
Gain Experience. Make an Impact. Have Fun.

If you're looking for an internship where you'll spend time both in the office and out in the community, Soccer Shots Nashville is a great place to start.

Our internship gives you hands-on experience in sports management, business operations, marketing, customer service, and youth coaching. You'll learn how a youth sports organization runs while helping create a positive experience for children and families across Middle Tennessee.

Whether you're studying Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Recreation, Education, or something similar, this internship will give you real-world experience you can take into your career.

About Soccer Shots Nashville

Soccer Shots is an award-winning children's soccer program for ages 2–8. Through fun, age-appropriate soccer activities, we help children build confidence, character, and important life skills.

Our programs serve families throughout Middle Tennessee at preschools, childcare centers, parks, churches, and community spaces. Behind every season is a team that works together to coach classes, support families, build community partnerships, and keep everything running smoothly.

As an intern, you'll get to be part of all of it.

What You'll Do

Every week is a little different, but you'll gain experience in several areas of the business.

Coaching

Coach Soccer Shots classes for children ages 2–8
Learn and teach the Soccer Shots curriculum
Encourage and engage children during each session
Build positive relationships with families and site directors
Help set up and break down equipment

Operations

Assist with preparing each season
Help organize equipment and supplies
Support coach scheduling and program logistics
Prepare certificates, jerseys, and end-of-season materials
Assist with instructor meetings and trainings

Marketing & Community Outreach

Help with Free Fun Days and community events
Assist with promotional materials and social media content
Visit partner locations and support community relationships
Participate in business development opportunities alongside the Program Director

Administrative Support

Data entry and organization
Customer service
Registration support
General office projects
Special assignments throughout the season

What You'll Learn

By the end of the internship, you'll have experience in:

Sports management
Program operations
Marketing
Customer service
Event planning
Leadership
Youth coaching
Team communication
Time management

Internship Schedule

This internship is a minimum of 180 hours over approximately 12 weeks.

During the first part of the internship, you'll help prepare for the upcoming season by assisting with scheduling, marketing, and community events.

Once the season begins, you'll spend most of your time coaching classes while continuing to help with office projects and day-to-day operations.

Expect a mix of:

Approximately 65% coaching
Approximately 35% office and operations

Soccer experience isn't required. We'll teach you everything you need to know about our curriculum and coaching style.

Requirements

At least 18 years old
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to travel throughout Middle Tennessee
Ability to pass a background check
Available to work 15–30+ hours per week
Some evening and weekend availability
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
Able to lift up to 50 pounds when needed

Academic Credit

Students seeking internship credit are encouraged to apply. We're happy to work with your college or university to meet internship requirements.

Feedback & Development

You'll work closely with the Program Director and leadership team throughout the internship. Regular feedback and check-ins will help you build confidence, develop new skills, and get the most out of your experience.
