Under the supervision of the Division Director of Emergency Preparedness, the Director of Business Continuity & Emergency Preparedness will manage business continuity and Emergency Preparedness (EP) activities for the assigned facility, which includes the development, documentation, maintenance, and implementation of plans and procedures, recovery strategies, and solutions, as well as training and exercises. Further, this individual will act as the point person after a disruption to lead the recovery efforts of the organization.
What you will do in this role:

Implement and manage all Business Continuity and EP program activities.
- Chair the Emergency Preparedness Steering committee.
- Act as the point person on incident command center operations and planning.
- Conduct annual hazard vulnerability analysis (HVA), business impact analysis and business process analysis.
- Identify mission-essential services or departments.
- Develop and maintain the facility-wide business continuity plan (BCP).
- Consult with senior business managers and team leaders on the development, implementation and maintenance of department-specific BCPs.
- Identify and implement the BCP update schedule.
- Maintain all hospital accreditation & licensing emergency management standards and requirements as it pertains to business continuity.
- Facilitate implementation of HEICS Plan.
- Ensure the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI).

Promote customer service initiatives.
- Maintain disaster readiness supplies and equipment with a clean working environment.
- Actively seek ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.

Develop and implement annual training and exercise schedule.
- Serve as hospital liaison to the Tennessee Highland Rim Healthcare Coalition.
- Conduct trainings and exercises to evaluate the plans.
- Maintain all training and exercise records.
- If activated, participate in the Hospital Incident Command Center.
- Be the point person on all BCP and EP activations.
- Manage the after-action report development and review.
- Receive advanced training & updates on: Code Ready; HCA Alert; HEICS; B-NICE and Decontamination.
- Meet mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives established annually as listed on the Performance Management Plan.
- Correspond with other TriStar Division and Healthcare Coalition Emergency Preparedness coordinators to plan education calendar and develop class objectives.
- Provide education per training calendar on all training elements listed.
- Act as liaison with community organizations.
- As appropriate, provide community education.
- Attend in-service presentations and complete mandatory education, including, but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvement, MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Use Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.
What qualifications you will need:

Knowledge of hospital operations and interactions.
-
Experience with the coordination of preparedness, response, and recovery processes associated with healthcare emergency management and business continuity.

3-5 years of professional experience in business continuity, emergency management/disaster preparedness, or related field.

Experience conducting BIAs, BPAs, interviews, and writing BC plans.

Knowledge of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) structure.
- Hospital Disaster Management Training (HDMT).
- Experience with Regional Mutual Aid Plan / Hospital Preparedness Program / Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (EMS/HPP/ASPR) audits and HSEEP exercise planning structure.
- Joint Commission EM chapter knowledge.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Current license in Tennessee as a Registered Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician – P.
