Full Job Description

The Loveless Events team is seeking an experienced Events Chef who will work closely with the Sous Chef, Head Chef, and Events Catering Team to prepare and execute food for onsite catering, offsite catering, and food truck events.

Starting pay rate: $19-$23 DOE plus gratuity opportunities when working food truck events.

Position purpose
The Events Chef supports the successful execution of Loveless Events culinary operations, including onsite catering, offsite catering, and food truck events. This position is responsible for food preparation, production, food quality, presentation, and maintaining the standards expected of the Loveless brand.

This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to work successfully in both kitchen and event environments.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
Safely drives and operates a 28 ft food truck to offsite catering and food truck events.
Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating.
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
Handles stores and rotates all products properly.
Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED
Must be able to understand and speak English at a proficient level

Special Position Requirements

Must have reliable transportation
Must have availability to work a changing schedule
Will work nights, weekends and some holidays
Valid Driver's License required
Must maintain a driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements
Must be comfortable and confident driving a 28 ft food truck

Preferences

2+ years of restaurant, catering, banquet, or event venue experience preferred
Willing to work event-based hours that include evenings and weekends
Ability to be flexible
ServSafe Certification preferred

Work Requirements

Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and serving staff.
