About the Director of Ministry Resources

The Isaacson Foundation (Empower Ministry) is a faith-based, non-profit organization on a mission to develop quality people to equip Christian leaders to live out their God-given potential to advance the Kingdom, free-of-charge forever. The Director of Ministry Resources plays a critical role in this mission.

This position leads the strategy, development, and ongoing enhancement of all leadership, management, learning, and training resources to strengthen leadership effectiveness and equip ministry teams.

It evaluates existing resources, identifies gaps/opportunities, and develops new or redesigned tools as needed. This role also curates a comprehensive library of ministry-supporting content.

The Director of Ministry Resources ensures ministry teams can quickly and easily access solutions-oriented information and resources through an intuitively designed Resource Center with high-quality search tools, powered by AI.

Beginning as a team of one for Ministry Resources, they must have a strategic mindset, a can-do spirit, and a hands-on, process-driven approach to achieving said vision. This person should be well equipped to manage team recruitment, mentorship, skills development, collaboration, and teamwork.

Ideally, this person will have 15+ years of ministry experience with 5+ years in an Executive Pastor position.

Travel is expected approximately once per month.

The Director of Ministry Resources’ Responsibilities Include:

Leadership & Management Development

Analyze existing leadership and management resources from open network ministry organizations, thought experts, and more—across a range of subject matter from strategic planning to performance management.
Outline leadership and management objectives and resource needs—identifying what can be filled from existing sources and what needs to be redesigned or originally created.
Design and execute processes to fulfill the vision of equipping ministry leaders and managers with the best information, tools, and resources.
Ensure ministry leadership can quickly find easily digestible solutions (i.e., “CliffsNotes”) via Resource Center.

Learning & Training Management

Assess existing learning and training resources for ministry teams—identifying best-in-class ones as well as gaps and opportunities for resource creation.
Identify and develop roles, responsibilities, and key measurements for ministry teams.
Maintain role-based learning and training objectives.
Develop and update role-based learning pathways and training programs.
Lead instructional design of learning and training resources.
Lead the development and oversight of the learning management system (LMS).
Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, AI specialists, ministry leaders, and others to create engaging, accessible content.
Facilitate live learning/training sessions, workshops, and webinars (in-person and virtual).

Content Library Management

“Content” could include (but is not limited to) thematic sermon support, templates, and topical graphics, multimedia assets, and worship songs.

Ensure the content library is best-in-class, accurate, and up to date.
Assess existing content resources and libraries—identifying best-in-class ones as well as gaps and opportunities.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive content library to meet top ministry needs—whether directing users to existing resources or creating original ones.
Ensure resources are intuitively accessible on demand through high-powered, AI search capabilities.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Consultation & Support

Ministry Processes: Serve as advisor on process mapping of key church operations to serve as the foundation for ministry support and resource development.
Empower Ministry Leadership (EML) Network (ministry leaders partnering in the advancement of our mission, vision, and purpose): Serve key support role.
Resource Center: Serve as advisor on implementation, architecture, and maintenance of best-in-class technology suite for leadership & management development; learning & training resources; content library; and more.
Priority Impact Partnerships (the most effective faith-based tools, platforms, and organizations driving Kingdom impact at scale): Serve as advisor for partnerships.
GPO Management: Serve as advisor for procurement of goods and services for ministry teams.

General Management

Own the ministry resource strategic plan, budget, and achievement of key performance metrics.
Provide ongoing assessment and enhancement using metrics, feedback loops, and iterative improvements.
Report outcomes to the leadership team and board, demonstrating the impact of efforts.
Crosstrain on other management roles within the organization.
Maintain strong, productive relationships with staff, board members, ministry teams, vendors, and other stakeholders, and validate key decisions with them.
Maintain alignment with the organization’s brand across all touchpoints.

Continuing Education

Technology: Stay current to keep the organization at the cutting edge.
Faith: Remain grounded in the mission.
Management/skills: Develop capabilities to better serve the team, ministry leaders, and the Kingdom.

What You Bring

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Director of Ministry Resources:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, instructional design, leadership development, nonprofit management, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ideally, this person will have 15+ years of ministry experience with 5+ years in an Executive Pastor position.
5+ years in resource management, instructional design, training, or learning and development.
Familiarity with LMS platforms, digital asset management systems, intranets, and e-learning development tools.
Experience working in faith-based or nonprofit organizations preferred.
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate).
Must be willing to cast vision, execute from macro to micro, and roll up their sleeves to do both strategic and hands-on work.
Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strength in marketing is valuable.
