Hiring Experienced FULL TIME Salad / Prep Cook in Westbury, NY!

Our kitchen is the heartbeat of The Shed. As a scratch kitchen, we pour our passion into everything we create. 2+ Years of Prep Cook / Salad Cook Experience Required (See What We’re Looking For)

What You’ll Do:

Work alongside our Executive Chef & Kitchen Manager to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service.
Execute food preparation and presentation to The Shed’s high standards.
Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment, following safety guidelines.
Open and close the kitchen following The Shed’s protocols and Health Department regulations.
Ensure all food storage areas are properly organized and products are stored safely and hygienically.

What We’re Looking For:

2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen
Ability to work both day and evening shifts (two days off per week for Full Time).
Exceptional knife skills and knowledge of major food prep techniques (breakfast/brunch experience a plus!).
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a calm and focused demeanor.
Strong teamwork skills and a positive, professional attitude.
Experience reading and following written recipes accurately.
Familiarity with receiving and organizing deliveries.
Physical stamina to stand for full shifts and lift 15+ lbs as needed.

Manejar y cuidar correctamente el equipo de cocina
Cumplir con los protocolos de apertura y cierre
Organizar y almacenar alimentos de manera adecuada

Requisitos:

Mínimo 2 años de experiencia en cocina profesional
Disponibilidad para turnos de día y noche (2 días libres por semana)
Buen manejo de cuchillos y técnicas básicas de preparación
Capacidad para trabajar bajo presión con enfoque y calma
Actitud positiva, profesional y trabajo en equipo
Habilidad para seguir recetas con precisión
Experiencia recibiendo y organizando pedidos
Resistencia física para trabajar turnos completos y levantar +15 lbs
