Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant provides essential support to ensure efficient operation of the church’s ministries while also providing dynamic and engaging communications to the congregation and surrounding community with the overall goal of growing the outreach and ministries of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Essential Functions

· Produce all necessary media to be used in worship (i.e., bulletins, videos, slide presentations).

· Assist with administrative needs for staff, volunteers and committees.

· Develop overall communication strategy utilizing social media, print media and website.

· Publicize vision, worship, and events of St. John’s to the congregation and community.

· Maintain the databases of the congregation’s membership, parish records, and track activities.

· Coordinate facility usage.

· Perform general reception and office duties.

· Publicize news and events from the ELCA at the churchwide and synodical levels.

· Develop policies and best practices for social media use by staff and volunteers and provide training.

Other Responsibilities

· Participate in staff meetings.

· Attend major events as assigned (i.e. Annual Congregational Meeting and others).

· Manage church office supplies.

Qualifications

· Minimum of an associate’s degree

· 2-3 years of experience

· Demonstrated success in developing comprehensive communication strategies

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, social media and Google Workplace

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
