About the company:

Our client is an owner-operator of poultry grow-out facilities in the United States, supplying major retailers. The firm combines operational expertise with disciplined investment strategy to optimize performance, enhance asset value, and support long-term sustainability of America’s protein supply.

Position Summary

The General Manager is the senior leader responsible for the full operational, financial, and asset performance of the company, beginning with an 11-site poultry operation in Nebraska.

The GM owns P&L, production outcomes, and asset integrity, leading Live Production and Repair & Maintenance through their respective heads. This role also provides oversight of facilities strategy, maintenance systems (CMMS), and capital planning, ensuring consistent execution and long-term asset performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Performance

Lead performance across 11 sites, ensuring consistency in production, animal welfare, uptime, and cost control.
Manage and develop the Head of Live Production and Head of R&M, holding both accountable to clear KPIs.
Ensure coordination between production and maintenance to maximize flock performance and minimize downtime.

Facilities & Asset Management

Oversee facility performance, maintenance strategy, and infrastructure reliability across all sites.
Ensure execution of preventative maintenance programs and effective use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs and vendor/subcontractor performance.

Financial Ownership

Own full P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across production and maintenance.
Balance maintenance investment with asset performance and long-term ROI.

People Leadership & Execution

Build and lead a high-performance culture across production managers, growers, R&M teams, and subcontractors.
Establish training programs, SOPs, and clear performance expectations across all sites.
Coach and develop functional leaders to improve team capability, accountability, and consistency.
Drive disciplined execution through KPI tracking, regular reviews, and field engagement.

Systems, Process & Continuous Improvement

Standardize operating and maintenance processes across all sites.
Drive continuous improvement in labor efficiency, preventative maintenance, and system performance.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with production, biosecurity, safety, and regulatory standards.
Provide clear reporting on operational, financial, and asset performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience with management-ownership of a multi-site, asset-intensive environment (e.g. agribusiness, industrial, manufacturing).
Strong understanding of facility maintenance operations and training of frontline workers
Technology adopter with experience in controlled environments (HVAC, sensors, controls).
Hyper focus on process, tracking, KPIs and repeatable outcomes
Decision-making based on data and A/B testing
P&L ownership experience and demonstrated cost reduction experience
Bilingual (Spanish – conversational) preferred.
Comfortable in a private equity-backed, performance-driven environment.
