SUMMARY~
The Master Scheduler is responsible for mid and long-term work center and aggregate capacity planning in a mixed-mode manufacturing environment. This role ensures that high-volume contract program work is efficiently balanced against volatile Make-to-Order (MTO) demands, protecting overall plant profitability and securing capacity for strict On-Time Delivery (OTD) accounts.
RESPONSIBILITIES~
- Develop, maintain, and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS) within the ECI M1 ERP system for both Make-to-Order (MTO) projects and contract manufacturing programs.
- Analyze production capacity across shared manufacturing resources and bottleneck work centers while creating and protecting strategic capacity buffers to accommodate changing customer demand without impacting on-time delivery commitments.
- Lead weekly Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes within M1 to ensure timely procurement of long-lead materials and minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Partner with Sales, Account Management, Purchasing, and Production teams to proactively identify scheduling risks, forecast capacity, and develop production plans that support customer delivery requirements.
- Utilize M1 Visual Job Boards and Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) tools to prioritize, sequence, and dispatch daily production work orders.
- Monitor and analyze schedule attainment by comparing planned versus completed production, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES~
- Apply strong business acumen and analytical thinking to solve operational challenges and improve planning processes.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on scheduling accuracy, production predictability, communication, and operational efficiency.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new technologies, systems, and planning processes that improve manufacturing performance and visibility across departments.
- Develop meaningful metrics and reporting that provide insight into scheduling performance, production capacity, and operational effectiveness.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS~
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience developing and monitoring key scheduling and planning performance indicators.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Proven ability to build alignment and motivate cross-functional teams toward common operational goals.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS~
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Management, Project Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing planning, scheduling, supply chain, production control, or operations experience.
- Experience with ECI M1 ERP or similar manufacturing ERP systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience utilizing Power BI, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data visualization, or advanced analytics tools is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Capacity Planning, and Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
