Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Rental Property Management Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee the financial record-keeping for a portfolio of rental properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise in accounting software and financial concepts appfolio ,will help streamline operations, support property management activities, and provide transparent financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient property management through precise bookkeeping and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to rental properties, including rent collections, expenses, and vendor payments, provide excell sheet of owner draw amount after deduction repair, HOA fee, Real Property Tax,etc.
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure data integrity and identify discrepancies promptly each month.
Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Appfolio ,or similar platforms.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to support accurate financial statements aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Manage payroll processing for property staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements. Keep all file of bookkeeping records.
Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and financial report writing to provide clear insights into property performance.
Collaborate with property managers and external auditors during audits by providing detailed account analysis and documentation.
Other Owner / Broker requested coordinate work.

Qualifications

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting within property management, corporate accounting, familiar with software operating Appfolio.
Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar financial tools; experience with Quicken is a plus.
Knowledge of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and tax experience related to property management is advantageous.
Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately using 10-key typing skills and attention to detail.
Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable & receivable processes.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, and account analysis efficiently.
