About the Position

Omari is seeking a warm, dependable, and community-minded Sales Associate to care for the shop and create a welcoming experience for every visitor.

The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, has a natural appreciation for art and handcrafted goods, and is comfortable working independently. This person should be attentive, responsible, and genuinely interested in learning about Omari’s products, artists, and community offerings.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers and create a warm, inclusive, and engaging shop experience
Assist customers in discovering products that align with their interests, intentions, or gifting needs
Learn and share information about Omari’s ritual craft items, local artisans, and other offerings
Process purchases accurately using the shop’s point-of-sale system
Open and close the shop according to established procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually inviting retail environment
Restock products and assist with displays and merchandising
Monitor inventory and communicate product needs or customer feedback
Support occasional in-store gatherings or special events
Represent Omari with professionalism, care, and respect

Qualifications

Previous retail, customer service, hospitality, or sales experience is preferred
Friendly, grounded, and comfortable starting conversations with customers
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Strong attention to detail and basic organizational skills
Comfortable handling payments and learning a point-of-sale system
An appreciation for handmade goods, ritual craft, art, music, spirituality, or community-centered spaces
Respectful of people from a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and personal practices
Available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00–6:00 p.m.
Potential availability on Thursdays is a plus

Position Details

Part-time: Approximately 18 hours per week, with the possibility of expanding to 24 hours
Pay: $18 per hour
Location: Omari, downtown Nevada City, California
Schedule: Friday through Sunday, 12:00–6:00 p.m.; Thursdays may be added in the future
