Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dedicated mental health team as a Primary Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive behavioral health and mental health care to diverse populations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, to support individuals facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. As a Primary Therapist, you will assess client needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide both individual and group therapy sessions in a dynamic and supportive environment. Your expertise will contribute to transforming lives through compassionate, client-centered care while adhering to clinical documentation standards and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough client assessments utilizing DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health, addiction recovery, trauma, PTSD care, and co-occurring disorders.
Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and promote positive behavioral change.
Manage crisis interventions effectively while maintaining safety protocols within home, community, hospital, or outpatient settings.
Document clinical encounters accurately following medical documentation standards using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, patient care coordination, and discharge planning to optimize treatment outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; licensure or certification preferred.
Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and mental health conditions in diverse settings such as hospitals, community clinics, or home care environments.
Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and clinical documentation standards.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for medical records management and data collection.
Excellent skills in crisis management, client assessment in therapy, social work principles, and client communication.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from varied cultural backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Familiarity with addiction counseling techniques, mental health counseling strategies, and evidence-based practices for behavioral health treatment.
