SUMMARY: Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and company standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking and verifying merchandise for processing.
Read sales orders, work orders, or shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins.
Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
Open pallets, crates and other cartons.
Record amounts of materials or items received from production via appropriate computer program.
Effectively communicate needed information to Logistics Associate for shipping.
Operate appropriate equipment to ensure packages are prepared to customers specifications.
Prepares parcels for shipments.
Assist with inventory counts
Pick / Pack orders as required
Ensures working areas are clean and free of debris
Makes daily transactions in SAP as needed.
Supports the ISO Quality Management system through following and continuously improving the company’s quality goals and objectives.
Report Worker's Comp. incidents to Warehouse Supervisor
Bring employee issues and concern to the attention of the Warehouse Supervisor and/or the Human Resources Manager.
Perform other related duties and/or special projects as assigned.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Operates all types of forklifts.
Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team environment.
Computer proficiency: Basic PC skills including
SAP-The Warehouse Management and Logistics module (Preferred)
Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization as well as customers and/or vendors.
Must be able to remain focused on the daily tasks of the job as specified above in order to maintain overall accuracy, meet daily deadline requirements, and meet overall performance expectations of the job.
Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities.
Efficiently communicate both verbally and in written form.
Possess good judgment and decision making skills
Ability to become Forklift Certified.
Understanding of flow manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing principles (Preferred).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience in Picking / Packing operations with a high variety of skus, along with general warehousing experience.
1 year of prior warehouse clerk experienced is preferred.
Hours:
8:00am-5:30pm M-Th, 9:00am-1:00pm F, with occasional overtime
