Full Job Description

Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina is seeking a dependable, energetic, and community-minded professional to lead two youth-serving programs in Jones County as the program coordinator. This is a position for someone who enjoys working directly with youth while also building partnerships, volunteer base, systems, and visibility needed for programs to grow. Candidate will report to the Craven County, NC office and will conduct program services in Jones County, NC.

About the Programs

Building Peace provides weekly school-based small groups that help elementary, middle, and high school students strengthen communication, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, decision-making, respect, and problem-solving skills. Teen Court offers eligible youth an accountability-focused alternative using an adult judge or restorative justice model while developing youth volunteers as leaders.

What You Will Do

Coordinate Building Peace program groups across county schools and support youth.
Manage Teen Court cases, hearings or restorative conferences, sanctions, follow-up, until case closure.
Complete intakes, admission and termination data, case management, and ongoing case follow-up
Recruit and retain youth and adult volunteers.
Plan and conduct monthly/bi-weekly—mock trials, training, leadership activities, and team-building for youth volunteers.
Build strong relationships with school personnel, law enforcement, juvenile justice, community organizations, and families.
Prepare monthly program reports.
Track results, identify gaps, and help both programs increase referrals, participation, visibility, and community support.
Help with fundraising.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

· A strong relationship-builder who is comfortable with youth, families, schools, volunteers, and community partners.

· Excellent organization, documentation, follow-through, and time-management skills.

· Experience with youth programming, case management, volunteer coordination, outreach, restorative practices, education, or a related field.

· Confidence facilitating groups and giving community presentations.

· Able to work with databases, spreadsheets, complete monthly reporting, in-person and virtual meetings.

· Availability during school hours and occasional evening and/or weekends for hearings, trainings, or events.

· A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, human relations, or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
