We partner with clients and the community to promote recovery from mental illness and substance use, treating more than 7,500 adults and children each year. CMHA is looking to hire a Referral Engagement Specialist. This position will be located at 233 Main St. New Britain, CT 06051. Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $20.00 per hour.

Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. CMHA also takes into consideration our benefits and paid time off package to provide a well-rounded and competitive approach to the applicant’s overall compensation.

Position Summary: The Referral Engagement Specialist responsible for processing referrals to CMHA services. Responsible for ensuring excellent customer service; facilitating adherence to CMHA policies and licensure requirements and engaging referral sources and/or referred clients into treatment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Works closely with Patient Access Representatives to assist with quality control, client satisfaction, and performance management.
Attends external events/meetings to promote CMHA services and establish professional relationships with external entities as the “point of contact” for referrals.
Receives referrals for treatment from external providers, hospitals, schools, and self-referrals and coordinates scheduling of appointments.
Assists with new client registration to ensure accurate information for client management database, including current insurance status, demographics with updated client contact information and responsible party.
Collaborates with Program Coordinators and Clinical Directors regarding patient care coordination to access our system of care.
Retrieves, copies, and forwards chart/medical record information to facilitate client visit.
Answers multi-line phones to screen and route callers, take messages, and schedule appointments to ensure optimum levels of client volume and flow, supporting reception and medical records functions as needed.
Inputs all client information in system and ensures information is accurate.
Follows up on “Intake/Psychiatric Evaluation no shows” and assesses scheduling problems for the CMHA’s Open Access Center.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Valid DMV License
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
A minimum of 1-year experience working in an office environment.
