Full Job Description

NJPM is hiring a hands-on Senior CPO to run a 15–20 site commercial route across North/Central NJ. Keep pools inspection-ready, and troubleshoot equipment (automation/pumps/heaters/salt systems). $5,800/month, full-time, weekend emergency on-call only.

Coverage Area: Bergen / Passaic / Hudson / Essex / Morris / Union / Somerset / Middlesex
Route: ~15–20 sites
Schedule: Full-time, 5 days/week

Compensation & Growth

$5,800/month to start, paid bi-weekly
Growth track to Regional Service Manager with significant long-term upside (incentives/equity discussion based on in-season performance)
Continuing education supported (pool operations, certifications, technical training)

Role Summary

NJPM is hiring a Senior CPO to lead water quality, compliance, and technical service across a multi-site commercial/semi-residential route. Your mission is to keep each facility inspection-ready, ensure weekly sampling is completed, support smooth season openings, and deliver clear service communication so operations stay stable all season and year round.

This is a hands-on field role for someone who can think like a CPO and troubleshoot like a commercial pool technician.

Core Responsibilities (Compliance + Technical)
Compliance, Water Quality & Client Service

Maintain NJ public bathing compliance standards; keep sites consistently inspection-ready
Coordinate pre-season readiness checks and support on-time openings
Perform routine water testing/adjustments and ensure safe, balanced water quality
Submit weekly water samples and track results + follow-up actions
Provide timely updates to site managers/clients (status, findings, recommendations, next steps)
Train lifeguards/site teams on basic system checks, cleaning routines, and within-scope chemical balancing
Maintain pre/post-storm checklists and coordinate readiness with Operations ahead of major weather events
Respond to weekend emergencies as needed (unsafe water, closure-level equipment failures)

Technical Maintenance, Diagnostics & Repair (within scope)

Automation & Controls: troubleshoot common automation systems (Jandy / Pentair / Hayward), including actuators, sensors, and controller settings (as applicable per site)
Pumps & Motors: diagnose flow/prime issues; replace seals/baskets; support variable-speed pump setup and programming (when applicable)
Heaters: basic diagnostics (startup checks, pressure/flow-related issues), coordinate vendor repair/replacement when needed
Salt/Chlorination Systems: diagnose “check salt / inspect cell / no flow” type issues; perform cell cleaning and basic troubleshooting
Hydraulics & Valves: identify leaks and failure points; support repairs on PVC plumbing, check valves, diverter valves, and multi-port valves

Requirements

Active CPO certification (required)
Pool Director certification (preferred) or ability to obtain quickly if required for specific facilities
Strong multi-site time management and documentation habits (logs, service notes, sampling records)
Ability to communicate professionally with clients and site teams
Comfortable with hands-on troubleshooting and small-to-medium repairs
Valid driver’s license; reliable personal vehicle; comfortable traveling across listed counties
Preferred: multi-site route/service experience; comfortable training seasonal staff
