RV Roof Technician
The Opportunity
At The RV Shop, we believe world-class RVs deserve world-class protection. As an RV Roof Restoration Technician, you'll play a critical role in preparing RVs for our premium spray-on roof coating system by performing roof teardowns, surface preparation, masking, sanding, and component reinstallation. While the primary focus of this position is preparation and assembly work, you'll also be involved in every stage of the roof restoration process, including coating application, quality inspections, and final delivery.
This is an opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in automotive, construction, RV, roofing, or similar trades to join a growing team with consistent hours and performance-based earning potential. Candidates with basic electrical knowledge are encouraged to apply, as the role includes removing, disconnecting, reinstalling, and testing rooftop components such as air conditioning units, antennas, vents, and other roof-mounted accessories.

What You’ll Do
➢ Perform Roof Teardowns: Remove, disconnect, and reinstall rooftop components including air conditioning units, antennas, vents, skylights, and other roof-mounted accessories in preparation for roof restoration.
➢ Prepare Surfaces for Application: Clean, mask, tape, sand, grind, and prepare RV roofs to ensure proper adhesion and a high-quality finished product.
➢ Assist with Roof Coating Application: Support and participate in the application of specialized 3-layer spray-on roof coating systems while following company procedures and quality standards.
➢ Operate Shop Equipment: Safely use hand tools, power tools, sanding equipment, ladders, lifts, and spray equipment as required throughout the roofing process.
➢ Support Component Reinstallation: Reinstall rooftop components after coating application, ensuring proper fitment, sealing, and basic electrical reconnection where applicable.
➢ Inspect and Deliver Quality Work: Perform visual inspections throughout the preparation, application, and finishing process to ensure quality, consistency, and workmanship standards are met.
➢ Follow Safety Procedures: Properly wear respirators and required personal protective equipment while working with high-temperature coating materials, power tools, and rooftop equipment.
➢ Maintain Organization: Keep work areas, tools, equipment, and materials clean, organized, and production-ready at all times.
➢ Collaborate with the Team: Communicate effectively with technicians and leadership regarding project status, material needs, and workflow.
➢ Support Shop Operations: Assist with additional production and shop projects as needed to support overall operational efficiency.
Who You Are
➢ Experienced in automotive repair, RV service, construction, roofing, spray foam insulation, industrial coatings, or another hands-on mechanical trade.
➢ Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including climbing ladders, working on RV roofs, and lifting or moving rooftop components.
➢ Possess basic mechanical aptitude, with basic electrical knowledge preferred for disconnecting and reconnecting rooftop accessories such as A/C units, antennas, lighting, and other electrical components.
➢ Detail-oriented and takes pride in thorough preparation, clean workmanship, and delivering a quality finished product.
➢ Able and willing to wear respirators and required personal protective equipment while working with coating materials and shop equipment.
➢ A dependable team player who communicates effectively and contributes to all phases of the roofing process.
➢ Able to work efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
➢ Someone who understands that RVs are valuable investments and treats every unit with care, professionalism, and respect.
