Inside Sales Representative

Optical Cable Corporation (OCC)

Optical Cable Corporation (OCC) is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our sales team and help drive customer success through proactive relationship management, sales support, and exceptional service. This role works closely with customers, prospects, outside sales representatives, business development, engineering, and internal teams to identify opportunities, provide solutions, and support revenue growth.

The ideal candidate is a relationship builder who enjoys solving customer needs, managing multiple priorities, and working in a collaborative environment. Experience with technical products, customer service, or sales support is highly valued.

What You Will Do

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and prospective customers within an assigned region.
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities while supporting current customer accounts.
Prepare and provide accurate quotes, process orders, and proactively follow up on opportunities to improve sales conversion.
Partner with outside sales representatives, sales engineers, business development, and marketing teams to develop proposals and close opportunities.
Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate OCC products and solutions.
Respond to customer questions regarding product capabilities, applications, pricing, orders, and shipping status.
Provide customers with information regarding product features, benefits, and solutions that differentiate OCC from competitors.
Resolve customer concerns by coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and effective solutions.
Maintain accurate customer information and utilize CRM tools to track opportunities and customer interactions.
Support a culture of service excellence by demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to customer success.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
1–2 years of experience in sales, inside sales, customer service, account management, or a related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience using CRM systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, communications, or related field.
Experience selling or supporting technical products.
Familiarity with fiber optic cable, connectivity solutions, or industrial/technical products.
