Full Job Description

We are an OEM (original equipment manufacturer), specializing in stainless steel conveyor systems and packaging equipment for the food and beverage industries.

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an Outsource Fabrication Buyer. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and self-directed individual to join a stable and reputable manufacturing company of material handling systems.

Outsource Fabrication Buyer

This role will review and communicate fabrication requirements and specifications, identify and manage fabrication vendors, and manage and expedite the fabrication of outsourced parts and assemblies to keep projects moving forward on schedule and on budget.

Responsibilities:

Comprehend fabrication drawings and specifications for requesting quotations and reviewing proposals.
Confer and negotiate with vendors to obtain agreement on such items as price, availability, delivery, quality to obtain the maximum value for the company.
Prepare Purchase Orders and Bid requests
Create demands for all material needed
Track all orders, and expedite orders as needed to meet manufacturing, installation, and shipping schedules.
Coordinate with procurement team and other internal teams such as production, engineering and accounting to resolve any delays, quality issues, pricing discrepancies
Coordinate with the in-house machine shop for material needs, timing of jobs to be completed

· Ability to read prints from engineering

· Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM’s)

· Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail

· Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to learn

· Understanding of supplier processes for metals and machined parts commodities
