Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will play a vital part in streamlining purchasing operations, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services essential for our production and supply chain processes. Your expertise in procurement systems and supply chain management will contribute significantly to maintaining optimal inventory levels, reducing costs, and supporting overall business efficiency. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities

Assist in executing procurement activities using systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and other purchasing management systems.
Support the management of vendor communication, negotiations, and relationship building to secure favorable terms and reliable supply sources.
Monitor inventory levels through inventory management software and coordinate with logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Analyze Excel data and spreadsheets to identify trends, optimize sourcing strategies, and improve procurement processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on production planning, merchandising, and logistics to align purchasing activities with company goals.
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier performance metrics.
Assist in sourcing new vendors and evaluating existing suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery times, and compliance standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within manufacturing or retail environments.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or equivalent supply chain management software.
Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, logistics, and supply chain processes.
Proficiency in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets, and accounting software for tracking procurement activities.
Excellent vendor relationship management skills with the ability to negotiate effectively on direct procurement deals.
Knowledge of contracts, pricing strategies, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), sourcing techniques, and e-commerce platforms.
Ability to communicate clearly with vendors and internal teams while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Must speak Mandarin
