About us
We are in the business of fostering connections: curating spaces, products and experiences that allow people to enjoy more authentic connections with themselves, their loved ones and the natural world here in Maine. While as a hospitality events-based business we are laser focused on the guest experience, we take great care to ensure the process by which we deliver our vision as a TEAM is nurtured with similar intention..
Our work environment includes:
- Friendly work setting (we are professional and work together with honest and kind communication)
- Supportive co-workers and management
- Safe work environment
- Growth opportunities
- The norm is a 5 day a week schedule - allowing two full days off during our high season to recharge and rest. There may be a few instances per season when this might not be possible, but on subsequent weeks we will make sure it is compensated for.
At Tops’l Farm we believe that work should be joyful and rewarding. As our spot here on the mid-coast continues to grow, we are seeking an enthusiastic, driven and highly organized human to help with our kitchen operations.
With 2024 projected to be our busiest season yet, we will push ourselves to create even more magic for our farm guests while focusing on building a solid kitchen team to help deliver this. You will work in tandem with the Chef to produce all of the food served to guests staying at our farm.
SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate will get along easily with others, with strong customer service and communication skills, excellent time management, multitasking skills and attention to detail.
At least 5 years kitchen experience, strong product knowledge, knife skills and an understanding of various cooking methods and techniques.
Critical thinking and problem solving is a key need for all who are hired here at the farm. It is very much a part of our culture to have team players who think through solutions in tandem with asking for help.
Deliver excellent service with a positive attitude during our events and while among guests.
Work alongside the Chef to work on and complete prep lists and to plate meals for events varying in size, vibes, and flavors.
Practice strong verbal communication during events between Chef/Kitchen Staff/FOH Event Staff
Assist with some dishwashing, clean up, receiving orders and general organization.
Help develop strategies for better workplace efficiency. As we grow, we will be looking for better ways to improve all around!
