Bookkeeping Assistant

Edge Supply is a locally owned, full-line MRO distributor headquartered in Fort Wayne, IN. We serve property management companies as well as commercial, industrial, and government-run facilities across Northeast Indiana and throughout the U.S., offering over 75,000 parts across categories including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, cabinets and countertops, and janitorial and lighting supplies.

About the Role

We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeping Assistant to support our accounting and office operations. You'll work closely with our finance team on day-to-day financial tasks while also assisting customers directly — a good fit for someone who's organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and can work independently.

Responsibilities

Process vendor bills and generate customer invoices (accounts payable/receivable)
Perform monthly account reconciliations
Prepare monthly sales tax reports
Support collections efforts, including customer outreach on past-due accounts
Assist with year-end close procedures
Respond to customer billing questions and account inquiries
Provide additional support across the accounting department as needed
Opportunity to cross-train in customer service functions, providing coverage support during busy periods or absences

Qualifications

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles (debits/credits, reconciliation, AP/AR)
