Starting at $15/hour + 3% Storefront Sales Commission + Performance-Based Year-End Bonus
About the Position
Player Prints is looking for a dependable, organized, and personable Apparel Production & Retail Assistant to join our team in Clarkston, Michigan.
This is a hands-on position combining apparel production, receiving, inventory management, order organization, retail sales, and customer service.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing things correctly, enjoys working with customers, and is willing to jump in wherever needed. The right person will play an important role in keeping orders organized, production moving, inventory accurate, and our storefront running smoothly.
Previous retail experience is preferred. Previous apparel production experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
What You'll DoReceiving & Order Verification
- Receive and check in incoming merchandise
- Compare received merchandise with purchase orders, packing slips, and customer orders
- Confirm that the correct products were ordered and received
- Verify quantities, sizes, colors, styles, and other order details
- Identify missing, incorrect, or damaged merchandise
- Sort and organize merchandise by customer, team, school, organization, or production job
- Properly stage merchandise for production
Accuracy is extremely important. We want someone who notices when something doesn't look right and takes the time to verify it before the order moves forward.
Apparel Production
- Assist with the production of custom apparel and merchandise
- Learn and safely operate a pneumatic heat press
- Apply transfers and graphics according to production specifications
- Check artwork placement and finished products for quality and accuracy
- Fold, sort, package, and organize completed orders
- Help prepare jobs for production
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production area
- Assist with other production responsibilities as training and experience increase
Applicants must be willing to learn and safely operate a pneumatic heat press.
Inventory & Storefront
- Maintain organized inventory
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory control
- Price and tag retail merchandise
- Fold, stock, organize, and display merchandise
- Restock the storefront as needed
- Help maintain an attractive, clean, and organized retail environment
- Keep receiving, inventory, production, and retail areas organized
Customer Service & Retail Sales
- Greet and acknowledge customers when they enter Player Prints
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service
- Help customers locate merchandise, sizes, colors, and products
- Answer questions and make recommendations when appropriate
- Handle storefront transactions
- Help customers locate completed orders
- Take ownership of the customer's experience from the time they enter the store until their transaction is complete
We are not looking for high-pressure salespeople. Our philosophy is simple: greet customers, pay attention to them, provide excellent service, and help when needed.
Compensation & Growth
Starting Pay: $15.00/hour
In addition to hourly compensation, this position includes:
- 3% commission on qualifying storefront sales handled by the employee
- Opportunities for hourly wage increases as skills, responsibilities, and independence increase
- Eligibility for a performance-based year-end bonus
- Full-time or part-time opportunities
Storefront Commission
We want employees who take care of our customers to share in the success of the storefront.
Employees receive commission credit on qualifying storefront transactions they handle. A customer does not have to be persuaded to make a purchase for the sale to qualify.
If a customer walks in knowing exactly what they want and you greet them, pay attention to their needs, assist them as appropriate, and handle their purchase, you receive credit for the qualifying sale.
We want our employees focused on taking care of customers—not worrying about whether a legitimate storefront transaction will count toward their commission.

- A willingness to help wherever needed
Previous apparel production, heat press, printing, embroidery, screen printing, or similar experience is a plus, but not required.
