Full Job Description

Job Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise will support our organization’s financial health by overseeing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, and ensuring precise account reconciliation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both corporate and governmental accounting processes within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms, and a passion for accuracy and efficiency.

Duties

Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment management using software Quickbooks and Procore.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to ensure all accounts are accurate and up-to-date
Support payroll management activities by utilizing systems like ADP.
Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including non-profit accounting if applicable
Maintain detailed records of financial transactions through data entry into various accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Perform month-end closing procedures, including general ledger accounting and account analysis
Support internal audits by providing documentation and explanations of financial data as needed
Contribute to budgeting processes and provide insights through account analysis and financial reporting
Familiar with certified payroll preparation

Experience

Proven experience in construction company accounting is a plus.
Hands-on experience with accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks,
Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro and time-tracking tools such as Kronos or Ceridian
Experience in public accounting is highly desirable
Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet reconciliation
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data entry and account analysis accurately
Excellent math skills combined with the ability to interpret complex financial data confidently
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
