About Petra Cephas

Petra Cephas Inc. is a growing residential mortgage brokerage headquartered in Piscataway, NJ and licensed across multiple states, including NJ, NY, PA, CT, MD, DC, VA, NC, GA, FL, TX, and CA. We’ve built a company focused on giving Loan Officers the support, technology, resources, and environment they need to grow their business - and now we’re looking for someone who can help us find the right people to grow with us.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an outgoing, driven, and persistent Recruiter to help us identify and recruit talented Loan Officers to Petra Cephas. This is not a sit-back-and-wait-for-applications recruiting role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys talking to people, building relationships, prospecting, following up, and turning conversations into opportunities. You’ll be responsible for finding Loan Officers, starting conversations, learning about their business and career goals, introducing them to Petra Cephas, and helping move qualified candidates through our recruiting process.

What You’ll Do

Identify and recruit experienced Mortgage Loan Officers
Prospect for potential recruits through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, networking, and other channels
Make outbound recruiting calls and start conversations with prospective Loan Officers
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of recruiting prospects
Develop genuine relationships with Loan Officers and learn what they are looking for in their next opportunity
Clearly communicate Petra Cephas' value proposition, culture, compensation structure, technology, operations support, and growth opportunities
Schedule and coordinate recruiting meetings with company leadership
Consistently follow up with prospective recruits throughout the recruiting process
Track recruiting activity, conversations, follow-ups, and pipeline progress in our CRM
Research Loan Officers and mortgage professionals within our current and future markets
Help develop new ideas and strategies for attracting top-producing Loan Officers
Attend networking events and industry events when appropriate
Work directly with company leadership on recruiting goals and growth initiatives

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do
Comfortable hearing "no" and continuing to pursue the next opportunity

Experience

Previous experience in recruiting, sales, business development, mortgage banking, real estate, staffing, or another relationship-driven role is preferred.

Mortgage industry experience is a major plus, but it is not required. We are willing to teach the mortgage side of the business to someone who has the personality, work ethic, and sales ability to be successful.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn't measured by simply sending messages or collecting resumes. It's about creating conversations, developing relationships, building a strong recruiting pipeline, and ultimately bringing great Loan Officers into the company.

We’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership of recruiting and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of Petra Cephas.
