Full Job Description

Municipal Court Administrator

The Newark Municipal Court is seeking a qualified, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual to serve as Municipal Court Administrator. The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and exceptional organizational skills.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

Working knowledge of PCSAM
Experience with ATS/ACS
Knowledge of eMACS
Experience with Page Center/Web Reporting
Experience using Zoom
Ability to work independently under the direction of the Chief Court Administrator
Knowledge of New Jersey Municipal Court procedures and operations
Previous experience with court procedures and functions required

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervise court staff, including training, mentoring, and discipline.
Ensure compliance with court policies, City regulations, State laws, confidentiality requirements, and New Jersey Rules of Court.
Manage daily court sessions conducted in person and through Zoom.
Monitor court records and ensure accurate updating and maintenance of files before, during, and after court sessions.
Prepare, review, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Collaborate effectively with judges, court personnel, and administrative staff.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Be available to work certain evening court sessions.

All established policies governing the operation of Municipal Courts

Residency Requirement

Pursuant to Section 2:14-1 of the Newark Administrative Code, all persons newly hired must be or become bona fide residents of the City of Newark.

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2B:12-11, applicants who are conditionally accredited must complete all required training to become fully accredited within three (3) years of appointment.
