Who we’re looking for:
The Junior Draftsman at Mid-Atlantic Mechanical is responsible for assisting with the preparation, revision, and organization of mechanical and construction drawings. This position will work closely with our drafting, engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure drawings are accurate, properly annotated, and meet project requirements. The ideal candidate has experience with drawing annotations and Revit and is looking to grow their drafting skills within the mechanical contracting industry.
What you’ll do: (including but not limited to)
- Assist with creating, modifying, and maintaining mechanical and construction drawings using Revit.
- Add and maintain accurate annotations, dimensions, notes, labels, and other drawing details.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with project requirements.
- Interpret architectural, engineering, and construction drawings and specifications.
- Make drawing revisions based on project changes, field conditions, and direction from senior designers or project managers.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining drawing files, revisions, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field personnel, and other team members to coordinate drawings and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with drawing coordination and identify potential conflicts or inconsistencies.
- Perform quality-control checks to ensure drawings are accurate and properly annotated.
- Maintain project deadlines and prioritize multiple drafting assignments as needed.

- Willingness to learn and develop within the mechanical contracting industry.
Technical:
- Experience with drawing annotation, including dimensions, notes, labels, and callouts.
- Working knowledge of Revit and the ability to create and modify mechanical/construction drawings.
- Ability to accurately interpret and revise technical drawings.
- Familiarity with construction or mechanical drafting principles.
- Ability to maintain organized drawing files and revision documentation.
Desired:
- 1–2 years of drafting, CAD, or related experience.
- Experience in the mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or construction industries.
- Experience with Revit and MEP Fabrication Parts
- Familiarity with Navisworks.
- Basic understanding of mechanical or plumbing systems.
- Experience working with field drawings, as-built drawings, or redline markups.
