Full Job Description

Position Summary

The CADC is a critical member of the clinical team at our substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring treatment facility. This role is responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to individuals struggling with SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders. The CADC will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mental health and addiction, a passion for working with underserved populations, and the ability to support patients in achieving long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Services

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and evaluations to determine treatment needs for individuals with SUD and co-occurring disorders.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs, goals, and clinical diagnoses.
Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
Deliver trauma-informed care and culturally sensitive treatment to a diverse patient population.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other medical staff to ensure effective medication monitoring and management.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies, HIPAA regulations, and state requirements.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Participate in regular case reviews and quality assurance activities to ensure clinical excellence and compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with peer recovery specialists, care managers, group facilitators, and administrative staff to provide coordinated care.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, barriers, and treatment adjustments.
Provide clinical consultation and support to other staff members as needed.

Patient Advocacy & Education

Advocate for patient needs, including access to housing, employment, and other social services.
Educate patients and families about substance use, mental health, relapse prevention strategies, and recovery resources.
Facilitate referrals to higher levels of care, self-help groups, or community-based resources when necessary.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Current and valid license in the state of New Jersey.
Experience:

◦ Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in SUD and/or co-occurring treatment settings.

◦ Experience working with underserved or culturally diverse populations preferred.

Skills:

◦ Strong understanding of evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.

◦ Proficiency in working with individuals with dual diagnoses.

◦ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

◦ Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Technical Skills: Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
