We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Underwriter specializing in Merchant Cash Advances (MCA) and Alternative Finance to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in financial analysis, risk assessment, and underwriting to evaluate complex funding proposals, mitigate potential risks, and support the growth of innovative financing solutions. Your proactive approach and deep understanding of financial services will drive sound decision-making, ensuring the company's continued success in a competitive market. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence strategic lending initiatives while working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment committed to excellence and innovation.

<Duties>

Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessments for MCA and alternative finance proposals, utilizing financial concepts such as cash flow analysis, financial modeling, and quantitative research.
Lead the underwriting process by evaluating borrower financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to determine creditworthiness and loan viability.
Develop detailed financial reports and forecasts that support decision-making processes, incorporating technical accounting principles and banking industry standards.
Negotiate terms with clients and brokers to reach mutually beneficial agreements while maintaining risk controls aligned with company policies.
Perform data collection and analysis to identify trends, potential fraud indicators, or anomalies that could impact portfolio performance or risk exposure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as portfolio management, loan processing, and fraud prevention to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial software tools, industry regulations, tax considerations, and mortgage servicing practices relevant to alternative finance lending.

<Experience>

Proven experience in underwriting within financial services, preferably in MCA or alternative finance sectors.
Strong background in financial analysis, including cash flow modeling, credit analysis, forecasting, and quantitative research methodologies.
Demonstrated expertise in negotiation skills combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as risk analysis, technical accounting, and loan origination processes.
Familiarity with financial software platforms used for data collection, loan processing, and portfolio management is highly desirable.
Knowledge of banking operations, mortgage servicing procedures, fraud detection techniques, and tax implications related to lending activities.
Excellent mathematical skills coupled with a keen eye for detail to perform accurate financial report writing and risk assessments.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring strong analytical thinking, technical acumen, and effective communication skills.
