Your schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00am-4:00pm and Tuesday and Thursday 10:00am-6:00pm
Basic Function
The Admissions CADC Specialist performs independent clinical work in the screening, assessment, of new SUD patients. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive intakes, determining appropriate levels of care, The CADC Specialist demonstrates an advanced understanding of the continuum of care, program operations, regulatory requirements, and client progression throughout treatment.
Essential Functions
Admissions, Screening, and Assessment
- Conduct telehealth and face-to-face screenings, assessments.
- Assess clients using the ASI or other standardized clinical interview tools and diagnose substance use disorders using DSM-5 criteria.
- Determine appropriate levels of care in accordance with ASAM Criteria.
- Obtain and review prior treatment records relevant to the current episode of care.
- Accurately enter admission, clinical, and assessment data into Maryville’s EMR and the New Jersey Substance Abuse Monitoring System (NJSAMS).
- Complete NJSAMS registrations from program eligibility through authorization requests.
Collaboration
1. Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams, including Admissions, Nursing, Counselors, and other staff.
2. Coordinate and communicate with referral sources and third-party stakeholders, including parole officers, recovery court representatives, hospitals, mental health providers, DCPP, family members, employers, and schools.
3. Provide support and advanced care coordination for alumni or clients requiring higher levels of follow-up care.
Documentation and Compliance
1. Ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation of all assessments, counseling sessions, education services, referrals, and follow-up in the clinical record, including required signatures and dates.
2. Ensure proper collection, monitoring, and documentation of urine samples in accordance with policy and regulation.
3. Maintain accountability documentation verifying interventions and services provided.
4. Comply with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.
Professional Responsibilities
1. Serve as a positive role model for clients and uphold therapeutic boundaries.
2. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and required trainings.
3. Assist with orientation and training of new staff when the Administrator is unavailable.
- Facilitate special events such as seminars, retreats, lectures, workshops, and presentations.
- Maintain CADC certification by completing required continuing education (60 CE hours every two years).
- Participate in special training as designated by the Supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education/Licensure:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- CADC certification required
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a counselor or clinician, preferably in a substance use disorder treatment setting
- Experience with NJSAMS is highly preferred
- Previous experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred
Sobriety:
- If in recovery, you must have a minimum of two (2) years of continuous sobriety and maintain sobriety throughout employment
