We are seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Corporate Office team in Charleston, Missouri. The primary responsibility of this position is supporting our Accounts Payable process while assisting with other accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed.

This position offers the opportunity to build a long-term career with a stable, locally owned agricultural cooperative. You will join a small, collaborative Corporate Office team where employees work closely together to support accounting, administrative operations, and excellent service for our member-owners.

Whether you have previous accounting experience or experience in an office environment, we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates strong computer skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping others, takes pride in accurate work, and wants to be part of a team that supports one another every day.

Primary Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
Verify invoice approvals and supporting documentation.
Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
Assist with weekly check and ACH payment processing.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized electronic records and accounting files.
Assist with month-end accounting activities.
Support general office and administrative responsibilities as needed.
Provide professional and courteous service to vendors, employees, customers, and member-owners.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous office, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounting experience is preferred but not required.
Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Positive attitude toward learning new technology, improving processes, and adapting to change.
Willingness to assist with a variety of accounting and administrative responsibilities.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and dependability.
