Overview

The Staff Midwife provides comprehensive prenatal, labor, birth, postpartum, and newborn care within our freestanding birth center. Working collaboratively with the Clinical Director and care team, this role manages an assigned client caseload, shares call responsibilities, maintains accurate clinical documentation, supports emergency readiness, and consistently delivers safe, respectful, evidence-based, relationship-centered midwifery care.

Duties

Provide comprehensive prenatal education and support to expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy journey
Monitor fetal development and maternal health through regular assessments and screenings
Assist with labor and delivery, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical protocols
Offer postpartum care, including breastfeeding support, newborn assessments, and family education
Collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Educate families on pregnancy health, childbirth options, and newborn care practices
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations

Experience

Current CPM / LM or CNM
Proven experience in birthing centers or homebirth
Exceptional communication skills to provide empathetic patient education and support
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation standards
Commitment to ongoing professional development in maternal health practices
Experience in rural maternal health preferred, but not required

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
