Full Job Description

Compensation: $20–25/hour, based on experience

Schedule: Primarily Sunday–Wednesday, approximately 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (flexible for the right candidate)

Alexander's Meals is a fast-growing prepared meal and catering company based in New Orleans, focused on scratch-made food, premium ingredients, and exceptional quality. Every week, we prepare chef-crafted meals for hundreds of families while maintaining the highest standards for consistency, organization, and hospitality.

We're looking for a skilled and dependable Sous Chef to work directly alongside our Owner & Head Chef. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility and the opportunity to grow as our company continues to expand.

What You'll Do

Execute daily food production according to established recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
Lead prep including knife work, butchery, batch cooking, sauces, and ingredient preparation.
Help oversee meal assembly and quality control to ensure consistency, flavor, and presentation.
Partner with the Owner & Head Chef to keep production running efficiently and on schedule.
Assist in coordinating daily prep priorities and kitchen workflow.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen while upholding all food safety and sanitation standards.
Monitor proper food handling, labeling, storage, and inventory rotation.
Lead by example and contribute to a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen.
Experience as a lead line cook, lead prep cook, kitchen supervisor, or sous chef preferred.
Excellent knife skills and strong understanding of fundamental cooking techniques.
Experience with batch cooking and high-volume production.
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
Calm under pressure with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Experience in catering, meal prep, or production kitchens is a plus.
