Job Summary
The Accountant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Accounting/Finance team. This person will assist with data entry, document management, financial reporting support, payroll-related tasks, insurance requests, and general departmental operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling sensitive information, communicating with internal team members, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide general administrative support to the Accounting/Finance department, including data entry, filing, and document management

Assist with the preparation of financial reports, invoices, and related documents

Process and prepare weekly payroll, union reports, and verify and record information on certified payrolls

Process insurance requests and assist with monthly OCIP recording

Handle incoming calls and emails, directing them to the appropriate team members as needed

Manage office supplies and ensure the department is equipped with necessary materials

Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required

Previous administrative experience preferred, ideally within an accounting or finance environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Strong Excel skills required

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Experience with union payroll processing required
