Assistant Project Manager – FINE Group

Location: Springfield, NJ – In Person

Position Overview

FINE Group, a specialty contractor based in Union County, New Jersey, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team.

This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in construction project management while gaining hands-on experience on publicly funded infrastructure and civil construction projects throughout the New York City metropolitan area.

The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with experienced Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, field personnel, and other members of the FINE team. The selected candidate will receive practical training in estimating, project controls, cost management, scheduling, contract administration, and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist with project estimating, takeoffs, bid preparation, and proposal development.
Support Project Managers with the day-to-day management and coordination of active construction projects.
Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation, reports, logs, and correspondence.
Assist with project cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and field personnel.
Track project schedules, deliverables, and milestones to help ensure projects remain on schedule.
Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and other project documentation.
Review project requirements and help ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and applicable standards.
Support company safety, quality control, and project compliance requirements.
Assist with contract administration, billing support, and project closeout documentation.
Maintain effective communication between project stakeholders, field operations, and internal departments.
Identify potential project issues and assist the Project Manager in developing timely solutions.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
Detail-oriented with a strong willingness to learn.
Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, and professional.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Previous construction, engineering, estimating, or project coordination experience is a plus, but not required.
