Full Job Description

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh
Site Manager
Reports to: Senior Site Manager/Construction Director
Classification: Full time, Hourly, Nonexempt
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday
Pay: $25-$30 per Hour

Overview

The Site Manager oversees and performs onsite construction activities. This position is responsible for ensuring the sites are prepared for the daily construction activities by maintaining logistical organization of the warehouse and construction sites and ensuring that a safe work environment is maintained. The Site Supervisor reports directly to the Senior Site Manager.

Responsibilities

Job Sites

Ensures all volunteers on site have signed in and registered for each day.
Maintains a safe work environment by adherence to OSHA standards
Completes and maintains competent person status through Habitat for Humanity’s training program
Responsible for site safety including shutting down unsafe work activities until safety concerns are addressed and remediated.
Provide directions to volunteers on site
Ensures proper tools and materials are onsite prior to the build day
Delegates site preparation tasks to AmeriCorps and volunteers
Reports any problem(s) to the Senior Site Manager/Construction Director
Coordinates with Senior Site Manager and Construction Director for materials needed for construction sites

Volunteer Groups

Assigns work detail to volunteers on site
Provides orientation and safety talk to all volunteers on a daily basis
Manages the work of volunteers & groups

Warehouse

Receives deliveries of construction materials
Maintains inventory of construction materials
Keeps warehouse in order
Maintains tools and vehicles

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in residential construction or demonstrates a high level of competency in construction and repairs.
Must Hold a valid New York State Driver’s License and possess a driving record that can be insured by our carrier
Knowledge of lead and asbestos regulations
Familiarity with green/energy efficient building principles and design
Comfortable managing and teaching volunteers, groups and inexperience individuals in the building process
Effective manager of subcontractors and the associated schedules
Well-developed communication and organizational skills
Ability to identify and drive objectives
Ability to speak Spanish a plus
