Full Job Description

The Guild For Exceptional Children in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, Is seeking a candidate for the Human Resource Department, Junior Recruiter PART TIME POSITION.

Main Purpose of the Position:

Supports the Agency's recruitment and onboarding efforts by sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates for assigned positions. The Junior Recruiter works closely with hiring managers and Human Resources to maintain an effective and timely recruitment process. Supports recruitment initiatives designed to attract and retain qualified candidates. May assist with onboarding.

Essential Functions: (the below list in not all inclusive)

Reviews and screens resumes to identify applicants who meet the minimum qualifications outlined in the job description. Conducts pre-screening interviews and schedules qualified and interested applicants for formal interviews.

·Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding recruitment and hiring practices.

·Maintains and updates job postings on the Agency's applicant tracking system, external job boards, social media platforms, and other recruitment sources.

Uses traditional and non-traditional recruitment resources to identify and attract candidates, including career fairs, online job fairs, open houses, community networking events, government workforce development agencies, community-based organizations, social media, and online recruitment platforms.

Maintains regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process and provides timely status updates.

Coordinates interviews between candidates and hiring managers and follows up regarding interview outcomes and next steps.

Maintains accurate and complete candidate records and recruitment documentation in the Agency's HRIS/applicant tracking system.

Monitors the timeliness of the recruitment process and maintains recruitment data and reports, including time-to-fill, applicant activity, hiring outcomes, recruitment sources, and other recruitment metrics as assigned.

Assists with tracking recruitment sources and evaluating which sources generate qualified applicants and successful hires.

Assists with the internal posting and transfer process, including reviewing applications, confirming minimum qualifications, coordinating interviews, and reviewing relevant personnel information as directed by the Human Resource Manager and in accordance with applicable Agency policies and collective bargaining agreements.

Participates in community outreach, career fairs, hiring events, open houses, and other recruitment activities, including occasional evening and weekend events.

Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, schools, workforce development programs, and other recruitment partners.

Provides candidates with a positive and professional experience throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.

As needed, assists with the onboarding and orientation of new employees, including communicating employment information, reviewing applicable policies and benefits information, coordinating required documentation, and ensuring completion of required HRIS registration and onboarding activities.

As needed, assists with Agency Human Resources audits.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently within established guidelines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee and applicant information.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and effectively use HRIS/applicant tracking systems and online recruitment platforms.

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with applicants, employees, managers, community partners, and other stakeholders.

Ability to communicate and interact respectfully and effectively with individuals with disabilities.

Ability to resolve problems within the scope of assigned responsibilities.

Experience with Paylocity or another HRIS/applicant tracking system preferred.

Other duties as requested.

Work Requirements

Primarily an in-person position. Must be able to travel locally to attend recruitment events, career fairs, community events, and other Agency-sponsored activities as assigned. Occasional evening and weekend availability is required based on recruitment needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

One (1) to two (2) years of recruitment, Human Resources, staffing, talent acquisition, or related experience preferred.
