Full Job Description

New York Therapy Placement Services, Inc. (NYTPS) is seeking bilingual and monolingual Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEITs) to provide high-quality educational services to preschool-aged children throughout all five boroughs of New York City.

SEITs provide direct 1:1 instruction to students in a variety of settings, including UPKs, preschools, daycares, and homes. We offer both full and part-time caseload opportunities with flexible scheduling options.

Immediate Need:

Location: Forest Hills, NY 11375
Schedule: 20-hour weekly case located in one school during the week

Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on student and family needs.

Requirements:

Must currently hold New York State certification: Students with Disabilities (Birth - grade 2) or a Special Education Permanent Certification.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule around the family needs.
Must have DOE Fingerprinting to pick up caseloads.
We have full clinical support team to assist with administrative aspects of the services.
Must not currently be employed by the DOE (candidates one year out will be considered).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to modify materials and activities based on IEP goals and student needs.
Bilingual extension required for bilingual cases.
Evaluator Requirements: 1–2 years of experience conducting preschool assessments (e.g., DAYC-2, HELP Checklist) and completing evaluations

Responsibilities:

Implements programs based on assessment of the student.
Coordinates the child’s educational goals with other providers, therapists, and teachers.
Based on the IEP and assessments, implements programs to address the student’s needs in functional living skills areas.
Promote independence for the student.
Maintain daily log notes.
For students requiring ABA, maintains daily data based on the student’s programs.
Follow New York Therapy Placement Services Code of Professional Conduct.
