Full Job Description

Background: Zak, an LA based eye care + eyewear practice expanded to NYC in an exciting partnership that combines comprehensive healthcare and wellness. We're seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented dispensing optician/sales associate with exceptional customer service skills for a full time position. If you're looking for the future of eye care + eyewear, this is it.

Who You Are: Outgoing, considerate customer service and hospitality are required. Prior optical sales and experience working in an Optometrist's office with relationship-driven sales. Experience and proficiency in insurance billing (VSP, Eyemed, Spectera) greatly preferred. Contact lens experience (insertion and removal training, sales) also a big plus.

Responsibilities:

At least 1 year experience working in an optometry office with retail customers and patients
Strong communication and writing skills, professionalism, finesse and efficiency in working with and providing quality care to customers in person, by phone and via email
Outgoing and informative sales abilities, assisting customers and patients in selecting appropriate frames and lenses, breaking down insurance benefits, accurately recording measurements, and ensuring frames are well suited to the patient's face, lifestyle and prescription
Comfortable using and learning digital systems and email to book appointments, obtain patient information, create invoices and send receipts/statements
Adept or ready to learn patient pre-testing equipment, use of the lensometer, supporting the doctor's flow and dispensing completed glasses
Great multitasking skills, switching between different to do's (insurance billing, patient check in, quality assurance inspections, etc.) and keeping track of personal responsibilities
Assist with general office maintenance and providing an extra set of hands whether the project is big or small
Genuinely enjoy working with people, excited about new opportunities and great with time management!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
