Automotive Videographer & Social Media Content Creator

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000–$72,000 per year
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Work Setting: On-site

About the Position

A leading multi-franchise automotive dealership group in Brooklyn is seeking a full-time Videographer and Social Media Content Creator to develop engaging, high-quality content that builds brand awareness, showcases our dealerships and tells authentic customer stories.

This is not a desk-only social media position. The right candidate will spend time throughout our dealerships capturing vehicles, customers, employees, community involvement, dealership events and behind-the-scenes moments.

You will be responsible for taking content from concept through completion, including planning, filming, editing, publishing and monitoring performance.

Our goal is to establish our dealership group as one of the most recognizable, trusted and engaging automotive brands in the New York market.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a consistent social media content calendar
Film and edit short-form and long-form video content
Create customer delivery videos, testimonials and customer success stories
Produce engaging dealership brand and culture content
Showcase new vehicles, used vehicles, special features and dealership inventory
Create employee spotlights and behind-the-scenes dealership content
Cover dealership events, community initiatives and promotional campaigns
Produce content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other relevant platforms
Write captions, select hashtags and publish content according to the content calendar
Create platform-specific versions of videos, including vertical short-form content
Identify social media trends and adapt them appropriately for the automotive industry
Work with dealership management, sales teams and marketing partners to develop content ideas
Encourage employees and customers to participate comfortably and naturally on camera
Organize and maintain video footage, photography and other digital assets
Monitor engagement, audience growth, reach, video views and other performance metrics
Recommend new content strategies based on results
Maintain a consistent and professional brand voice across all dealership locations

Content Priorities

The primary focus of this position will be:

New-vehicle delivery experiences
Dealership brand awareness
Employee and dealership culture
Community involvement
Vehicle walkarounds and feature demonstrations
Entertaining and educational automotive content
Social media campaigns that make people want to visit, follow and engage with our dealerships

Qualifications

Professional experience filming and editing video content
Strong portfolio demonstrating social media videos, branded content or commercial work
Experience creating content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook
Proficiency with professional video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve
Strong understanding of lighting, audio, framing and video production
Ability to turn around polished short-form content quickly
Comfortable directing and filming customers, employees and dealership leadership
Strong storytelling, communication and organizational skills
Understanding of current social media trends, formats and platform best practices
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
Willingness to work on-site and move between dealership locations as needed
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

Automotive dealership or automotive content experience
Photography and photo-editing experience
Experience managing business social media accounts
Experience with motion graphics, animation or graphic design
Experience developing YouTube content
Familiarity with paid social media advertising and content performance analytics
Experience interviewing customers and producing testimonial-style content
Experience building a brand’s audience from the ground up

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position. The regular schedule will be based around dealership operating hours. Some evening or weekend availability may be required for special events, customer deliveries and time-sensitive content opportunities.

Compensation

The annual compensation range is $45,000–$72,000, based on experience, portfolio quality and demonstrated ability.
