Full Job Description

Overview
The Senior Manager, Order Planning Management leads the forecasting, planning, and execution of inbound inventory flow across the North America distribution network. This role is responsible for ensuring product moves efficiently from vendors through distribution centers and into store and digital fulfillment channels in alignment with business priorities, inventory goals, and operational capacity. Acting as a key cross-functional leader, this position partners across Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Merchandising, Forecasting, and Vendor Operations to optimize receipt flow, improve supply chain performance, and support omnichannel fulfillment strategies.

Responsibilities

Receipt Planning & Inventory Flow Management

Lead end-to-end forecasting and planning of inbound receipts across the distribution network, ensuring alignment with seasonal plans, budgets, and fulfillment priorities
Develop and manage receipt flow strategies that optimize distribution center capacity, labor utilization, and inventory availability
Identify and resolve receipt flow disruptions, including vendor delays, capacity constraints, and prioritization conflicts
Partner with distribution center leadership to coordinate and prioritize purchase order flow through facilities
Monitor receipt performance and proactively address risks impacting inventory availability and customer fulfillment commitments

Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination

Partner with vendors to support receipt planning, intake forecasting, and supply chain readiness
Ensure vendor commitments align with receipt expectations, business timelines, and inventory objectives
Track and communicate receipt status for key product launches, seasonal initiatives, and promotional events
Drive vendor compliance related to purchase order accuracy, shipment timing, and lead time performance
Serve as an escalation point for receipt-related supply chain issues and vendor performance concerns

Cross-Functional Partnership

Collaborate with Inventory Management, Forecasting, Merchandising, Fulfillment, and Operations teams to align receipt strategies with business demand and inventory plans
Support prioritization decisions based on product importance, promotional calendars, and open-to-buy targets
Communicate receipt plans, risks, and performance updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Drive adoption of efficient inventory movement and replenishment strategies across the supply chain network

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop a team of planners and analysts responsible for receipt planning and execution
Establish performance goals, development plans, and accountability measures for team members
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making
Build organizational capability in supply chain planning, vendor management, and operational analytics

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Develop and maintain reporting tools that provide visibility into receipt flow, purchase order status, and supply chain performance
Analyze forecast accuracy, receipt performance, and operational efficiency to identify improvement opportunities
Drive initiatives that improve planning accuracy, reduce variability, and enhance inventory flow across the network
Deliver executive-ready reporting and recommendations related to receipt planning and supply chain health

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or related field
7+ years of experience in order planning, inventory management, supply chain operations, or related disciplines
4+ years of leadership experience managing teams and operational performance
Deep expertise in receipt planning, purchase order management, and distribution center operations within high-volume environments
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex analytical modeling
Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and visualization tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities with experience influencing both internal teams and external partners

Preferred

Experience within retail, omnichannel, or consumer goods environments
Experience supporting large-scale distribution networks and fulfillment operations
Proven track record driving process improvements, operational efficiency, and supply chain optimization initiatives
