Private Chef | Private Family | Uptown Manhattan

Please read the qualifications carefully before applying. Due to the highly specialized nature of this search, we are only able to respond to candidates who meet all of the requirements outlined below.

Our client, a warm and health-conscious private family in Uptown Manhattan, is seeking an experienced Private Chef to join their household on a long-term basis. This is an exceptional opportunity for a culinary professional who is passionate about creating delicious, nutritious meals and enjoys working in a private home environment.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must:

Currently reside in the New York City metropolitan area.
Have previous experience as a Private Chef in a private household.
Have completed formal culinary training from an accredited culinary program.
Demonstrate exceptional career stability, with a minimum of five years in each previous long-term position.
Be able to provide outstanding, verifiable professional references from prior private employers before presentation to the family.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is:

Monday–Thursday: 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The family values flexibility, and occasional overtime may be requested when schedules or entertaining require additional support.

Responsibilities

The Private Chef will be responsible for:

Preparing fresh, seasonal dinners for the family.
Creating healthy, appealing after-school snacks for the children.
Preparing make-ahead breakfasts.
Packing nutritious lunches for the adults.
Menu planning, grocery shopping, and kitchen organization.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen.
Accommodating dietary preferences and seasonal menu changes while delivering consistently exceptional meals.

Culinary Style

The ideal candidate is passionate about nutrition, wellness, and longevity, with the ability to prepare meals that are both beautiful and approachable for everyday family dining.

Meals should emphasize:

Fresh, organic, high-quality ingredients.
Whole-food, minimally processed cooking.
Seasonal, nutrient-dense menus.
Family-friendly recipes that are flavorful, creative, and balanced.
Current evidence-based approaches to healthy eating and longevity.

Travel

Travel is expected to be minimal. The chef may have the opportunity to accompany the family for several weeks during the summer at their Hamptons residence; otherwise, travel requirements are very limited.
