Full Job Description

Overview:

Tokyo Kuma is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Division Manager to oversee and support operations across multiple store locations. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in retail management and the beauty/lifestyle industry, particularly Japanese cosmetics, skincare, beauty trends, collectibles, and specialty merchandise.

The Division Manager will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all stores, managing product selection and inventory performance, maximizing sales, developing store teams, and maintaining a strong understanding of the Tokyo Kuma brand and customer experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, knowledgeable about Japanese beauty and lifestyle products, and capable of managing multiple locations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Duties:

Store & Operations Management

Oversee daily operations across multiple Tokyo Kuma store locations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and operational excellence.
Ensure all stores maintain company standards for cleanliness, organization, merchandising, customer experience, and safety.
Understand and uphold the Tokyo Kuma brand identity, mission, and customer experience expectations across all locations.
Monitor store performance and implement operational improvements where needed.

Product & Inventory Management

Manage store product assortment, inventory levels, and merchandising strategies across locations.
Maintain strong knowledge of Japanese cosmetics, skincare, beauty products, and current market trends.
Stay informed about competitor brands, pricing, industry trends, and emerging beauty products.
Coordinate inventory planning, replenishment, and stock transfers to maximize sales and minimize shrinkage or overstock.
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely product availability.

Sales & Business Development

Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability across all stores.
Analyze sales performance, customer trends, and product movement to identify growth opportunities.
Drive promotional campaigns, seasonal launches, and customer engagement initiatives.
Ensure stores consistently achieve sales goals and KPI targets.

Customer Experience

Ensure all stores deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming shopping environment.
Handle customer concerns professionally and effectively.
Train and coach store teams on product knowledge, customer engagement, and service standards.

Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate store management and staff.
Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven work culture.
Conduct regular store visits, performance evaluations, and operational reviews.

Financial & Administrative Management

Review store financial reports, sales data, and operational metrics to ensure profitability and efficiency.
Monitor budgets, expenses, and operational costs.
Ensure proper cash-handling procedures and operational compliance are followed at all locations.

Compliance & Travel

Ensure all stores comply with company policies and local/state regulations.
Travel regularly to store locations in multiple states to provide operational support and management oversight.

Qualifications

2-3+ years of experience in retail management and beauty/lifestyle retail preferred.
Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategy.
Ability to analyze sales data and make strategic business decisions.
Strong knowledge of Japanese cosmetics, skincare, beauty trends, blind box collectibles, and specialty retail products highly preferred.
Experience managing multiple store locations or high-volume retail environments preferred.
Mandarin speaking preferred.
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
