Managing Editor

V Magazine

V Magazine is seeking a Managing Editor to oversee editorial operations, financial performance, and strategic partnerships across the publication. This role sits at the intersection of editorial, business, and production—ensuring that V’s creative output is supported by strong operational execution and financial discipline.

Working closely with the Editor-in-Chief and the financial team, the Managing Editor will lead staff management, oversee budgets and P&Ls, and drive advertiser partnerships from initial concept through final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations across editorial, production, and business teams
Manage budgets, P&Ls, forecasting, and financial reporting in coordination with the finance team
Ensure timely execution of all advertiser partnerships, from contract to delivery
Track deliverables across campaigns and editorial projects to ensure deadlines and expectations are met
Lead and manage staff, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment
Serve as a key liaison between editorial leadership and business operations
Oversee payment processes, vendor relationships, and financial workflows
Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and revenue growth

Qualifications

7–10+ years of experience in media, publishing, or a related industry
Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and P&Ls
Proven experience overseeing advertiser or brand partnerships
Exceptional organizational and project management skills
Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication skills and attention to detail

About the Role

This is a senior leadership position for someone who can move fluidly between creative and business priorities. The ideal candidate understands the demands of a modern media company and can ensure that both editorial ambition and commercial commitments are executed at the highest level.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
