Full Job Description

Badger Swim Club is seeking a part-time Strength & Conditioning Coach to work with our competitive swimmers. Badger Swim Club, established in 1956, is one of the oldest swim clubs in America. Badger’s mission is to produce national and international caliber swimmers from the New York Metropolitan Area. Based out of Larchmont, New York, Badger trains at various facilities throughout Westchester County.

The ideal candidate will have energy and enthusiasm for working with athletes, a strong understanding of strength training and movement technique, and an ability to effectively teach and motivate middle school and high school athletes.

This position is unique in that the Strength & Conditioning Coach will not be responsible for creating the training program. Badger has an established strength and conditioning program developed with a third-party company specializing in swim-specific strength training. The coach will work closely with both Badger Swim Club coaches and our outside strength and conditioning partner to implement the program effectively.

The primary focus of this position will be coaching, instruction, proper technique, athlete engagement, and tracking athlete progress.

Responsibilities

Oversee and coach approximately 8–10 hours of strength and conditioning sessions per week
Implement Badger’s established strength and conditioning program
Teach and reinforce proper lifting, movement, and exercise technique
Provide individual instruction and technical corrections to athletes
Maintain a safe, organized, positive, and productive training environment
Track athlete attendance, testing, progression, and relevant performance metrics
Communicate effectively with Badger Swim Club coaches regarding athlete progress
Communicate and collaborate with our third-party swim-specific strength and conditioning partner
Help athletes understand proper training habits and expectations in the weight room
Develop and maintain healthy relationships with athletes and coaching staff
Be a positive role model, maintain high ethical and professional standards, and adhere to all Badger Swim Club policies
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Prior experience in strength and conditioning, personal training, athletic performance, or a related field
Experience working with middle school and high school athletes preferred
Strong knowledge of proper lifting and movement technique
Ability to effectively teach, communicate, and provide technical feedback to athletes
Strong organizational skills and ability to track athlete development
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively within an established training program
Strength and conditioning or personal training certification preferred
CPR/AED certification and/or ability to obtain required certifications
Competitive swimming experience is helpful but not required

This position is approximately 8–10 hours per week, primarily during weekday afternoons with the possibility of some weekend hours.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in working with a nationally recognized USA Swimming program and developing young athletes in a high-performance environment. The position is especially well suited for a coach who enjoys hands-on instruction and athlete development without the responsibility of designing and managing the overall strength program.

We have an immediate need to fill this position.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
