Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of outdoor and indoor spaces through hands-on maintenance, landscaping, and repair tasks. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and community members while maintaining the integrity of grounds and facilities. Responsibilities

Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and weed control to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy.
Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, irrigation systems, and power tools safely and efficiently.
Conduct landscape enhancements by installing hardscape features like pathways or retaining walls as needed.
Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and making necessary repairs to ensure proper watering schedules.
Identify plants accurately to assist with gardening efforts and implement pest management strategies following safety protocols.
Execute snow plowing and snow removal operations during winter months to ensure safe access around the property.
Support tree care activities including trimming, pruning, or removal in accordance with safety standards and horticultural best practices.
Follow all safety protocols diligently during outdoor work to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment.
Assist with general building maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or equipment troubleshooting to support overall facility operations.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment.
Hands-on experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, and hardscape installation.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as excavators or tree trimmers.
Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, and pesticide management techniques.
Familiarity with irrigation systems including installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence.
Ability to perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aeration efficiently.
Construction experience is a plus for hardscape projects or minor repairs around the property.
Understanding of tree care practices including trimming, pruning, or removal procedures.
Experience operating grounds maintenance vehicles like utility carts or small excavators is advantageous.
