Multivista Northeast is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our New York operations team as a Construction Documentation Specialist.
In this position, you will travel to active construction projects and create organized visual records of work as it progresses. Using professional cameras, 360-degree cameras and Multivista’s proprietary documentation platform, you will capture important construction details and make that information available to project owners, contractors and other members of the project team.
Documentation Specialists may also be trained to perform UAV documentation and assist with the installation, servicing and removal of construction webcams.
This is a systematic construction-documentation position rather than a traditional creative photography role. Success depends on capturing complete and consistent coverage, following established documentation paths, recognizing relevant construction conditions and accurately recording what is being built.
Construction experience or familiarity with architectural drawings is particularly valuable. Photography experience is also helpful when it involves real estate, architecture, inspections or other forms of structured documentation. Traditional studio, portrait, event or creative photography experience is less directly related to the day-to-day responsibilities of this position.
Previous industry experience is not required. We provide training and are open to an entry-level candidate who demonstrates the right technical aptitude, professionalism, attention to detail and motivation to learn.
This posting is for a New York-based position primarily covering New York City and the surrounding service area. Occasional assignments elsewhere in the Tri-State area, including Northern New Jersey and Western Connecticut, may be required.
What You’ll Do
- Travel directly from home to assigned construction projects, primarily throughout New York City and the surrounding New York service area.
- Visit one or more active construction sites during the workday.
- Capture organized and consistent construction-progress documentation using professional cameras and 360-degree cameras.
- Follow established floor-plan paths and project-specific documentation requirements during each visit.
- Learn to read and navigate architectural drawings and floor plans.
- Identify and document relevant building components, construction progress and concealed conditions.
- Photograph required areas thoroughly and accurately rather than selectively or artistically.
- Review your work for coverage, image quality and completeness before leaving the project.
- Upload, organize and process captured information using Multivista’s online platform.
- Maintain accurate project records and follow established file-naming, storage and quality-control procedures.
- Communicate with clients, project managers, superintendents and other construction personnel while on site.
- Provide project updates and report scheduling, access or scope-related issues to Multivista management.
- Recognize site conditions that may affect the planned documentation and communicate those changes promptly.
- Safely transport, use and maintain company-provided documentation equipment.
- Perform UAV documentation after completing the required certification and company training.
- Assist with construction webcam installations, service visits and removals.
- Follow all company procedures and jobsite safety requirements.
- Learn additional reality-capture services and technologies based on company needs and individual proficiency.
Field and At-Home Work
This is primarily a field-based position. Employees generally begin and end their field assignments from home and travel directly to and from assigned project sites.
After completing scheduled site visits, employees are responsible for reviewing, organizing, uploading and processing the day’s documentation. This portion of the paid workday may be completed from home.
Mileage and other approved expenses associated with the use of a personal vehicle for company work are reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
Schedule and Travel
Most work is completed during normal weekday business hours. However, construction schedules and site-access requirements may occasionally require early mornings, evenings, nights or weekend work.
During the summer months, specific client projects may regularly require work during evenings and weekends. Applicants must be willing and able to accommodate these seasonal scheduling requirements when assigned.
Regular travel throughout New York City and the surrounding New York service area is an essential part of this position. Occasional travel to Northern New Jersey or Western Connecticut may also be required.

- Comfort working on active construction sites, including large and multistory buildings.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to drive for extended periods when required.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 35 pounds, including while using stairs.
- Ability to stand and walk through construction sites for much of the workday.
- Ability to work in typical construction-site conditions, including dust, noise, wind, rain, heat and cold.
- Willingness to follow all jobsite safety requirements and wear company-provided personal protective equipment.
- Availability for evening and weekend assignments during periods of increased seasonal demand, particularly during the summer.
Helpful Experience
Direct construction-documentation experience is not required. Relevant experience may include:
- Construction, construction management or work in the skilled trades.
- Architecture, engineering, surveying or building inspection.
- Reading architectural drawings, floor plans or construction documents.
- Property inspections or other structured documentation work.
- Real-estate, architectural or construction photography.
- UAV experience or an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Webcam, security-camera, low-voltage or equipment-installation experience.
- Technical field-service or inspection work.
- Experience learning and operating technical equipment.
- 360-degree cameras, laser scanning or other reality-capture technology.
- Microsoft Office and other computer-based project-management systems.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
These are helpful qualifications, not requirements. We are prepared to train an entry-level candidate who demonstrates the right ability, work ethic and potential.
Technology and Training
Documentation Specialists are initially trained in Multivista’s core construction-photography, 360-degree documentation and project-processing workflows.
Training focuses on systematic coverage, construction awareness, floor-plan navigation, project requirements, image consistency and quality control—not creative or artistic photography.
Employees may also be trained in UAV documentation and construction webcam installation, servicing and removal. Independent UAV operations require an active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and completion of company field training.
As experience and proficiency develop, employees may have opportunities to train in:
