Job description

Multivista Northeast is looking for a technically capable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a 3D Laser Scanning Registration Technician.

This position primarily involves processing and registering 3D laser scan data using Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360. Previous experience with laser scanning, point clouds, registration, surveying, construction technology, CAD, or similar technical software is preferred, but it is not required.

We are open to an entry-level candidate who demonstrates strong technical aptitude, attention to detail and the ability to learn complex software and workflows. Training will be provided for the right person.

The position is based out of our White Plains office, with in-office, hybrid and remote work possibilities depending on the candidate’s experience and progress through training. The person hired will also be trained in field scanning so they understand how scan data is captured and can serve as a backup 3D Laser Scanning Technician when needed.

What You’ll Do

Import, organize and register 3D laser scan data using Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360.
Review registered point clouds for alignment, accuracy, completeness, and overall quality.
Identify registration issues and make the necessary corrections before project delivery.
Maintain organized project files and follow established naming, storage, and quality-control standards.
Communicate clearly with field technicians and project managers when scan coverage or data-quality issues are identified.
Track assigned projects and meet processing deadlines.
Learn how field conditions, scanner placement and data-capture decisions affect registration quality.
Train to operate Leica 3D laser scanners on active construction sites.
Serve as a backup field technician when additional scanning support is needed.
Assist with other point-cloud processing and project-delivery tasks as training progresses.

What We’re Looking For

Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new software.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Ability to recognize patterns, troubleshoot alignment issues and work through technical challenges.
Strong computer skills and comfort managing large files and organized folder structures.
Ability to follow established workflows and quality-control procedures consistently.
Good organizational, time-management and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while asking questions when needed.
Interest in 3D laser scanning, point clouds, construction technology, or digital reality.
Willingness to perform occasional fieldwork and travel to project sites.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift approximately 35 pounds and stand or walk on active construction sites for extended periods.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience is helpful but not required. Relevant backgrounds may include:

Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 or other point-cloud registration software.
3D laser scanning, surveying or reality capture.
AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, ReCap, CloudCompare or similar technical software.
Construction, architecture, engineering, or building documentation.
Photography, photogrammetry, or 3D modeling.
Computer-based technical production or quality-control work.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
