Full Job Description

Nurse Practitioner – Clinical Research (Sub-Investigator)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Position Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Occasional weekend flexibility required during high-volume trial phases)

Salary: $155,000 to $175,000 (Commensurate with experience)

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Brooklyn Clinical Research increases access to clinical trials for underrepresented populations. Clinical-trial enrollment should accurately represent the broader population. In meeting this objective, we help improve therapeutic efficacy and safety for all individuals.

Position Overview

We are seeking a clinically adept, highly motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our growing research team as a Sub-Investigator. This is a hands-on clinical research role, working in collaboration with our full-time Principal Investigators (MD/DO) to conduct industry-sponsored clinical trials, manage study visits, and ensure protocol compliance.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring strong clinical judgment and meticulous attention to detail. We provide comprehensive training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical research methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight: Serve as a Sub-Investigator on assigned clinical trials, conducting protocol-required medical evaluations, detailed histories, physical exams, and safety assessments.
Study Execution: Administer investigational products (e.g., vaccines, injectables) and oversee clinical procedures including phlebotomy, vital signs, ECGs, and other protocol-specified tests.
Safety & Compliance: Assess and document adverse events and serious adverse events according to FDA, ICH-GCP, and Sponsor guidelines.
Data Integrity: Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate source documentation and electronic data entry (EDC, eSource, CTMS).
Trial Collaboration: Partner closely with clinical coordinators, regulatory staff, sponsors, and CROs to ensure seamless execution of study visits, monitoring visits, and audits.
Protocol: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of active study protocols, informed consent documents, and participant safety workflows.
Site Growth: Participate actively in team meetings, contributing to ongoing process improvement and operational compliance as our site expands.

Qualifications

Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP preferred).
Active Nurse Practitioner license and current RN registration in New York State (required).
National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC).
Extensive background in direct patient care; prior clinical research experience is a strong plus but not required.
Sharp clinical acumen, independent judgment, and exceptional documentation skills.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
