VP, Senior Distribution Lead

High-Tech Property & Specialty — Semiconductor / Data Center

Northern New Jersey · National account scope · Primarily On-site + 50% Travel

Full-time · Senior-level (VP) · $200,000–$350,000 base + annual bonus + long-term incentive

Overview:

A major Asia-headquartered property & casualty insurer is launching a US High-Tech insurance practice — semiconductor fabrication, AI/hyperscale data centers, and EV battery manufacturing — and is hiring its founding distribution leader. You will build the broker franchise, personally originate marquee accounts, and grow the team behind the platform over the next five years, working directly with the global head office. This is a founding role in the US High-Tech practice, with high autonomy and national account scope. Candidates from both carrier and brokerage backgrounds are welcome.

Responsibilities:

● Build and deepen relationships with Tier-1 wholesale and retail brokers (Marsh, Aon, WTW, Lockton, Gallagher, Amwins, RT Specialty, CRC); negotiate compensation and submission-flow agreements.

● Personally originate priority high-tech accounts — semiconductor fabs, hyperscale and colocation data centers, advanced manufacturing and battery risks.

● Design broker tiering and SLA frameworks to optimize submission quality and hit ratio.

● Architect the operating model for a multi-hub national distribution network, including territory allocation and P&L ownership.

● Build and lead the US distribution team over the next five years.

● Own pipeline forecasting and key KPIs, including submission-to-bind conversion and renewal retention.

Requirements:

● 12–15+ years of P&C commercial insurance distribution, with 5+ years in high-tech, large-property, construction, or specialty lines.

● Senior distribution, production, or broking background at a Tier-1 carrier or a leading brokerage — for example, Chubb, Zurich NA, AXA XL, FM Global, AIG, Liberty Mutual GRS, Allianz Commercial, or BHSI on the carrier side, or Marsh, Aon, WTW, Lockton, Gallagher, Amwins, RT Specialty, or CRC on the broker side. Carrier and brokerage backgrounds are equally welcome.

● Demonstrated origination or placement on large complex-property accounts. A transferable book of business is a plus, not a requirement.

● Deep network across national wholesale and high-tech retail brokerage practices.

● Working knowledge of HPR underwriting principles, NatCat accumulation, and layered tower placement ($1B+ TIV), plus E&S / surplus lines distribution mechanics.

● Active P&C Producer License (NJ required or obtainable), with willingness to obtain additional state licenses.

● Bachelor's degree.

● Ability to operate independently and hands-on.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Semiconductor or data-center distribution experience, and relationships with the corresponding centers of excellence at the major brokerages.

● Adjacent complex-property verticals — battery, electronics, industrial manufacturing, or construction.

● Construction and builder's risk expertise (CAR/EAR, project-specific placements).

● MBA, CPCU, ARM, or RPLU.

● Prior 0-to-1 build of a distribution platform, MGA, or specialty unit.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
